On October 8th 2006 the IG Wolf has been bestowed with the cultural award‚ Premio Federichino in the course of an official ceremony in the collegiate church of Goeppingen-Faurndau. This annual distinction is mutually being awarded by the Hohenstaufen societies of Goeppingen, Jesi and Palermo.

The Premio Federichino is an addition to the scientific award of the Hohenstaufen foundations. With this cultural award performances outside of the scientific, universitary sector are honoured, which have been achieved by imparting knowledge about the Hohenstaufen in a special and successful way.

According to the boards of the named Hohenstaufen societies, the IG Wolf had been especially successful with its characteristic and self-developed forms of presentation and conveying of historic subjects. Particularly the many years of continuous work based on profound historic knowledge and the pursuit of maximum authenticity as guideline of the performance have been pointed out. This work encouraged the introduction of new people to history and inspired a more intensive involvement with the time of the Hohenstaufen.
